Kindergarten: Stephanie Carrillo BS & Credentialed Teacher

Kindergarteners will be learning about the world around them ...from the seasonal changes God has made in our world to plant and animal life, by incorporating story time, science, Bible, songs, and art. It will be a fun hands on learning experience!!

1st Grade: Christy Miller / Credentialed Teacher

This year we will be learning about a different artist each week by reading about them and completing a project in a similar style that they would have done. (Similar to the Meet the Masters program) We will be using different methods and styles with- painting, pastels, watercolor, crayons, glue, markers and anything else fun I can find. We will also be having sharing time, PE activities and snack time on the playground. Looking forward to meeting your kids!

2nd Grade: Sherry Ryan

Sheri has a B.A. in Liberal Studies and a M.A. in Education from Biola University, and taught 2nd grade for 6 years, before choosing to be a stay-at-home mom. She has homeschooled her children for 7 years.

This year second graders will enjoy wild and whacky science experiments, fun art projects and lots of group activities to enhance and supplement the homeschool experience.  2nd graders will learn basic art terminology, explore color, patterns and textures through the use of various mediums. We will also be doing seasonal crafts to encourage creativity.

3rd Grade: Maureen Bosanko

I have a B.A. in Bible, a teaching credential in rehabilitative services, and a B.A. & M.A. in Communicative Disorders (Speech Language Pathologist).

Our class will be learning about geography and culture. As we learn we will be working on a geography lapbook that the students will bring home at the end of the year. Each week we will learn about a new country or continent. We read a literature book from the country, sample food from the country, play a game from the country and add information to the lapbook. Students will be required to bring their own supplies to class, a supply list will be given at the beginning of the year.

IMPACT—“Service, Community, and Fun.” Middle School Class for 6-8th Grade

Impact is an exciting new class just for Middle School students. The goal of Impact is to give back and serve the students at Western Christian PSP. The students in Impact work to raise school spirit, community, and student involvement in service projects. In addition, we will develop deeper community by planning events for 6th-8th graders.

Impact students who enroll do so because they recognize that there is more to being successful in school than simply doing homework. Having a positive atmosphere where students feel wanted and accepted is critical to their success. To that end, the members of Impact will focus on providing engaging activities that ensure a well-rounded middle school experience monthly. Impact will help to develop organizational and communication skills. We will have a strong focus on Godly character, service and community.

Being an Impact member is easy! If you will be in 6th-8th grade, all you have to do is fill out an application and get an interview. Each Spring, Impact will elect class officers to represent the group. You have the option of running for an office or just be an appointed member. Everyone has a role in Impact and you should become a part of it!  Space is limited! Apply NOW for Fall!
