Tuesday School Courses: Elementary (2nd- 5th Grade)

Bible

Teacher Nicole Mohr is currently a Lead training Bible Study Facilitator, teaching events for 15 to 300 people, and she has been teaching the Word of God for over a decade. She has continued her education in child development and Biblical studies, taught 500 youth at a camp in Kenya, and served at orphanages. Nicole is a wife to Christ first, and to her husband, Jeff. They are very active in community affairs, serve as adoption support group leaders through a facilitation organization, and keep Christ at the center of homeschooling their 2 children.

Course Description: We are excited to launch AWANA at our Tuesday school site. We will be implementing the Awana curriculum from pre-school to 8th grade because we value every student having a deep knowledge of the Word of God. Fun incentives and celebrations will be earned throughout the year.

Science

Teacher Stephany Maxwell is both humbled and honored to be the new Tuesday school science teacher. She attended the University of Texas at Arlington, majoring in Biology with a pre-med option. Two years ago, seeking to honor God and lead Christ centered lives, she and her husband Benjamin began the home school journey. As they study the Holy Bible it is evident it is filled with scientific facts and she is personally inspired with the truths revealed to us in the book of Job. She prays that they attain an intimate knowledge of our Glorious God as we study his creations.

Course Description: We will be studying the science surrounding the days of creation (Genesis 1:1-27). I will also be incorporating several S.T.E.A.M (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) projects and quizzes disguised as games.

Physical Education

Teacher- Elena Wallace: My name is Elena Wallace and I have two boys currently in the Western Christian PSP Tuesday school program. I have been involved in Children's ministry for 20 years including missions work in Mazatlán, Mexico. I love working with kids and I oversee the 1st -5th grade Sunday school classes at my church, Living Waters of Chino, where I've been a member for 23 years. I hope to engage your children in some fun, energetic and challenging games that will help them stay active and live a healthy life. Teaching our children to be good stewards of their bodies is a great fundamental lesson that can be taught at a young age.

Teacher- Lachelle Sessions is a WCSPSP alumnus and has a B.A. degree in Liberal Studies. She has been the San Dimas Park Day Coach for five years as well as the Head Track and Field Coach for a homeschool league for 6 years. Lachelle is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys working with kids. She has a passion for sports, health and wellness. She enjoys volunteering with different organizations including the Health Scholar program at Riverside Community Hospital, kid’s registration at church, and wherever else there is a need.

Course Description: This physical fitness class will introduce your child to a variety of fitness activities and sports. Activities such as plyometrics, isometrics, calisthenics, and stretching techniques will be employed for training. Sports may include basic martial arts, baseball, volleyball, obstacle courses, and fun old-fashioned games such as kickball and four square. The importance of good nutrition, healthy lifestyle habits, good sportsmanship, and a Godly attitude will be stressed.
